Chief of Staff - Pilot

Sydney CBD, NSW

Job description

About Pilot

Men's health is a space still filled with taboo and embarrassment. Men don't talk about their health openly and we often don't see the doctor until we've developed significant medical conditions. Given nearly 1 in 2 of men will experience a mental health issue or have problems with our sexual function during our lifetime, we should be visiting the doctor more.

We thought it was time for change.

So we decided in 2019 to build an end-to-end telehealth platform, specifically for Australian men. The core idea was that men were more likely to engage with their healthcare when it was made digital, seamless and patient-centric. We think of Pilot as 'the men's health toolkit' that forms the glue between disparate parts of healthcare. Doctors, pharmacy, pathology, specialists, and more.

In under 3 years, we've helped over 150K men with convenient access to healthcare for sexual health, hair loss, acne, poor sleep, and now obesity. And we are just getting started.

Where you fit

There's a long road left for us to execute on our long-term vision to be a healthcare management platform for all men. We want to tackle complex health conditions like diabetes and mental health and be able to make a significant impact on the quality of life of all men. We are driven to bend the cost curve to enable happier healthy lives for men across the globe.

You'll be the extension of the Pilot GM and the team to achieve these goals. This is an opportunity to work directly with one of the Eucalyptus founders to execute on this long term vision and turn Pilot into an internationally renowned men's health brand. You’ll get your hands dirty and get involved in all aspects of business and decision making and you’ll be surrounded by domain experts in marketing, branding, supply chain, technology, finance and operations in the process.

What your role looks like

You'll be working on the following:

Founder extension: Developing an understanding of the business and the goals to represent the founder’s point of view to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll assist in making decisions on strategy, prioritisation and our future roadmap.

Launching new offerings: You'll be responsible for scoping and executing on the launch of new conditions Pilot treats and our expansion to new geographies. You'll need to know when to iterate and when to scale.

Driving insights into action: Conducting customer interviews, audit customer flows and crunch numbers to identify qualitative and quantitative insights unique to your deep knowledge of Pilot. You'll be asked to distill them into a digestible form with clear recommendations on next steps. This will see you work with our digital product teams to deliver seamless, high quality customer experiences. You'll work with our supply chain, operations and customer success teams to continuously improve our products. You'll work with our marketing and creative teams to shape the content we create.

Getting your hands dirty: You'll be solely responsible for the daily operations of the brand. This will involve circulating insights on key metrics (such as conversion and retention) as well as everything from the management of email flows, to developing landing pages, to improving medical questionnaire flows.

Setting us up for scale: A key part of your role is to empower the other functions to have the knowledge required to do their jobs. As Pilot continues to scale, you will need to create structures for knowledge sharing, decision making and the management of big wheel projects.

There is a huge amount of autonomy that comes with this role – we want to see you take initiative to co-create and execute on the future vision for Pilot. Ultimately, this role will allow you to develop an extremely well-rounded skillset through valuable cross-functional working experience and day to day management of Eucalyptus' largest brand.

Progression happens quickly at Eucalyptus. This is a pivotal role that will give you the skill set to take on more responsibility either to be fast-tracked to Pilot GM, or a senior strategy lead trusted to launch new brands, markets and capabilities.

Experience required

Your qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a high performance environment, whether that is consulting, banking, technology or a high growth startup.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus but not essential.

Your skillset:

Strategic mindset on long term projects

  • An interest in men's health and wellbeing, and the future of healthcare
  • An ability to logically think through complex problems
  • Proactive, forward thinking and able to effectively and quickly synthesise information into clear recommendations, actions and decisions
  • Organisational agility, with the ability to impact and influence leaders across Euc

Executional skillset with attention to detail

  • Excellent competency with excel and numbers. SQL is a plus but not essential
  • Strong user empathy and able to turn insights into a better product that customers love
  • Strong organisational skills, keeping track of big and small tasks and ensuring they are prioritised and completed
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communications skills that can be applied internally within the organisation and externally with customers
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments

Why join Eucalyptus?

We are building the future of accessible, patient-centric healthcare right here in Australia!

In just 2 years, we've grown to over 100 000 patients across 3 companies. Blackbird, who invested in us, put us among the fastest-growing companies they have ever funded.

What do we do, exactly?

Well, we have built a technology platform to deliver healthcare to Australians with a level of care and depth that brings healthcare into the internet age. We plug into doctors, specialists and pharmacies from all over the country, and our brands (Pilot, Kin and Software) cater for different demographics. Our most recent brand, Normal, is changing the conversation around sexual health and wellness.

How do we work?

Things move quickly here. We like to set goals with the mindset that if we hit them all we haven’t challenged ourselves enough. You’ll be surrounded by a world-class team of thinkers, designers, engineers and leaders who are obsessed with three things:

  1. The health and wellbeing of the average person
  2. Creating personalised, engaging, convenient user-experiences
  3. Making healthcare fun and interesting (because it is)

The organisation is flat and decision making happens regularly and rapidly at every level of the org. We believe too many chefs spoil the broth and ultimately people are given the freedom to make decisions (and mistakes), and learn from the journey. Ultimately, we believe ideas are cheap and execution is more important than anything.

Why you'll thrive here

We want to set you up for success from day one, ensuring you’ll thrive here because you’ll:

  • Come in at the ground floor at one of the fastest growing startups in the country while we are still small (~80 people).
  • An awesome office in Haymarket, near Central (with flexible work – esp. during COVID).
  • See the meaningful impact of your work on over tens of thousands of actual users (check out the customers that love us!).
  • Learn from some of Australia’s best marketers, engineers and creatives, joining a diverse team from Atlassian, Canva, Koala, McKinsey, BuzzFeed, Optiver, Halter and more.
  • A share in the company (equity), so you are rewarded for your best work.

Want to help us build the future of healthcare?

Because we’re going to need all the help we can get.
