Operations Product Manager

Sydney CBD, NSW

Eucalyptus is looking for two Operations Product Managers. Ops PMs seek out the highest impact problems and opportunities, build business cases, then scope and implement solutions. You’ll enjoy the responsibility of owning a meaty, cross-functional project as well as the variety of tackling discrete problems. The role will report to our Operations Strategy Lead. Previous Ops PMs have gone on to become technical PMs, heads of teams and leading international expansion!

Job description

The Ops PM role has three core responsibilities.

First, you’ll own a big cross-functional project area.

At Eucalyptus, our brands are built on top of shared technology and supply chain infrastructure. Allocating this shared resource between brands requires tough trade-offs and commitment to measuring impact. To get stuff done, Ops PMs collaborate across functions, as advocates for the slice of the customer experience they own.

Example areas of ownership: (a) own the delivery experience for our Obesity Management offering; (b) own the long-term roadmap for our pharmacy distribution network.

Second, you’ll scope and execute the hardest discrete problems.

Euc is a hyper-growth healthcare company where complex challenges emerge every day. The hardest operational problems are solved by our Ops PMs. You’ll dive deep on a problem, using data to truly understand it, weigh potential solutions and then execute. You’ll build solutions that are ‘good enough’, then iterate.

Past projects include: (a) Design a dashboard and management framework for our healthcare practitioners; (b) Source and establish relationships with pharmacy partners to meet unexpected demand; (c) Design CRM automations to reduce the volume of avoidable service interactions.

Third, you’ll lift the professionalism of the team.

Operations can be messy and sometimes a quick-and-dirty solution is the right one. At other times, rigour is rewarded. Ops PMs are incredibly structured thinkers with relentless focus on understanding the ‘why’, forming testable hypotheses and using data to drive decisions. You synthesise tonnes of info; you build a clear vision; you document your work - in short, you turn chaos into clarity.

This role is a launch pad for leadership positions in Operations and across Eucalyptus. We’ve recently promoted Ops PMs to product roles, heads of teams and international leadership positions.

Experience required

  • Reliable - you’ll have big goals and lots of autonomy; we need to know you can handle it
  • Skilled communicator  - your words create clarity and momentum
  • Resourceful - you can move mountains with only some smarts and a bit of elbow grease
  • Transparent - you challenge respectfully, share insights freely and own your mistakes
  • Passionate your energy to help people improve their health is infectious
  • Dynamic - you shift between precise execution and long term strategy without blinking
  • Resilient - you keep your cool when the kitchen starts to get a little hot
  • A high achiever - you’ve probably been top of you class; this is the place to test yourself

Experience required

  • 3-6 years experience in consulting, banking, law or similar
  • Experience running complex projects
  • Passionate about startups, healthcare, or both

Why join Eucalyptus?

We are building the future of accessible, patient-centric healthcare right here in Australia!

In just 2 years, we've grown to over 100 000 patients across 3 companies. Blackbird, who invested in us, put us among the fastest-growing companies they have ever funded.

What do we do, exactly?

Well, we have built a technology platform to deliver healthcare to Australians with a level of care and depth that brings healthcare into the internet age. We plug into doctors, specialists and pharmacies from all over the country, and our brands (Pilot, Kin and Software) cater for different demographics. Our most recent brand, Normal, is changing the conversation around sexual health and wellness.

How do we work?

Things move quickly here. We like to set goals with the mindset that if we hit them all we haven’t challenged ourselves enough. You’ll be surrounded by a world-class team of thinkers, designers, engineers and leaders who are obsessed with three things:

  1. The health and wellbeing of the average person
  2. Creating personalised, engaging, convenient user-experiences
  3. Making healthcare fun and interesting (because it is)

The organisation is flat and decision making happens regularly and rapidly at every level of the org. We believe too many chefs spoil the broth and ultimately people are given the freedom to make decisions (and mistakes), and learn from the journey. Ultimately, we believe ideas are cheap and execution is more important than anything.

Why you'll thrive here

We want to set you up for success from day one, ensuring you’ll thrive here because you’ll:

  • Come in at the ground floor at one of the fastest growing startups in the country while we are still small (~80 people).
  • An awesome office in Haymarket, near Central (with flexible work – esp. during COVID).
  • See the meaningful impact of your work on over tens of thousands of actual users (check out the customers that love us!).
  • Learn from some of Australia’s best marketers, engineers and creatives, joining a diverse team from Atlassian, Canva, Koala, McKinsey, BuzzFeed, Optiver, Halter and more.
  • A share in the company (equity), so you are rewarded for your best work.

Want to help us build the future of healthcare?

Because we’re going to need all the help we can get.
